ABOUT CYNTHIA

Cynthia began her yoga journey 10 years ago to complement her strength training and running. A lifelong learner and teacher both on and off the mat for the past decade, she enjoys studying all aspects of yoga. She holds a PhD and has been trained in E-RYT 200, RCYT and YACEP. She enjoys an energetic, vigorous practice, but also slows things down (a little!).

She has completed numerous yoga trainings including 100 hours of Rocket Vinyasa Yoga training, 50 hours with David “Baba Rocket” Kyle and 50 with the BLM Rocket Global Collective, Accessible Yoga Training, Yoga for All, Curvy Yoga, trauma-informed Yoga, Mindful Resilience with the Veteran’s Yoga Project, prenatal yoga, restorative yoga, and Yoga for 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR). She has also studied yoga in Spanish with Flying Tree Yoga in Medellin, Colombia, and is currently studying Progressive Ashtanga Vinyasa en español with Progressive Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga School in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with Manuel “Rocket Boy” Oria. She is a certified children’s yoga teacher with Yogiños Yoga for Youth and serves as the Manager of Research for the organization and also facilitates training for future kid’s yoga teachers.

Cynthia is passionate about sharing yoga and mindfulness with teachers and children in U.S. schools, and recently completed a certification in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T) and offers professional development to teachers and administrators on how to incorporate yoga and mindfulness in the classroom. She enjoys teaching both children and adults and is committed to making yoga accessible for all.
