ABOUT JASON

By the time I had become an adult, I had resolved to travel to India, though I had no plans or goal in mind. By age 22, I had landed in Mumbai with little more than a pair of sandals and a backpack full of clothes. Six weeks later I found Yoga in Rishikesh and have practiced, studied, and taught ever since that beautiful morning, April 17, 2000.

I searched for and found my primary teacher, Mitra. I stayed in the region for three years, and before leaving I completed my first YTT-200 course in 2002 at the Mount Madonna Center in the Santa Cruz mountains, becoming established in a well rounded practice. I also completed a bachelor's thesis, Hatha Yoga and Globalization, in 2003, as well as extensive study in San Francisco, before leaving Northern California.

My favorite moments with yoga, nonetheless, have been the everyday moments when we support each other through difficulty and celebration alike in community. I've continued practicing, studying, and intermittently teaching for the past 23 years. I'm currently completing two extensive courses, Yoga Myths and a YTT-500. These courses have helped me continue to grow, and have given me new perspectives on how I can draw from Yoga to help myself and those around me.

I look forward to sharing that with you.
